Please tell us about your latest release A Taste for a Mate and how you came up with the idea.
Thanks so much for having me! A Taste for a Mate is book 2 in the Redwood Pack series and is Jasper and Willow’s story. It’s about what happens when two people who are meant to be together are pulled apart because of a rival Pack of werewolves. It’s a paranormal romance with a slightly dark twist. J
Where did I come up with the idea? Hmm… I think it was because I wanted to write about a werewolf family – plus with some sexy men!

This is part of a series. Are they any special challenges when writing for a series?
Yep, this is book 2 in the 7 book Redwood Pack series. I think challenges come up with keeping the world consistent. But I have a book that helps me out where I have all my character and world descriptions. Without that, I’d be lost!
Plotter or Pantser?
Definitely a plotter! I have outlines of my outlines LOL. But I need to do that with a series. I like knowing where I’m going. But that doesn’t mean I set myself in that. If I find something along the way that I could change, then I do. It doesn’t hurt too much. J
What makes a great hero?
I always think it’s the way he treats his heroine. If he loves her and treats her like his equal, then he’s a hero in my book.
Do you have anything in common with your characters?
I think there’s a little bit of me in each of my characters. But I also think that they are their own persons.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
I’d like to think so. I actually hated my hubby when we first met. We were rivals in our chemistry program. It took a few years and friendship for us to fall in love.
Who are some of your favorite authors?
I have so many! LOL Shiloh Walker, Lauren Dane and Lindsay Sands are up there though for me.
Do you have any advice for aspiring writers trying to get published?
Keep writing and join a crit group or find a crit partner. You shouldn’t do everything yourself. Asking for help is okay.
What are you currently working on?
Right now I’m editing Trinity Bound, book 3 in the Redwood Pack series. It’s Reed’s story and is my first m/m/f!
I’m also drafting the first book in a new series called Dante’s Circle. The book is called Dust of My Wings and is set in a different world from my Redwood Pack series.
Each series is seven books long – so don’t worry. I’m not ending either series!
Carrie Ann Ryan is a paranormal and contemporary romance author. After spending too much time behind a lab bench, she decided to dive into the romance world and find her werewolf mate – even if its just in her books.
